Snowsports School

Applications will also be available at the Instructor Skills Workshop Informational Meeting. All applications should be turned in at the meeting.

Snowsports School Qualifications
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
• 16 years of age or older
• Strong skiing/riding skills
• Able to lift in excess of 80+ lbs.
• Must enjoy working outdoors
• Must have flexible availability including weekends and evenings.
• Must be PSIA/AASI Certified or complete the Bristol Mountain Skills Workshop

Demo & Cross-Country Center

Responsibilities:

• Check guests in for Nordic and snowshoe activities
• Appropriately size guests for Nordic and Snowshoe activities
• Assist guests with technique for Nordic activities
• Answer phones and inform guests on policies and procedures for Demo and Nordic activities and snow/trail conditions
• Recommend ski and snowboard equipment to guests for demo
• Appropriately size guests and set DINs for demo equipment
• Mount ski and snowboard equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
• Wax and tune skis and boards as necessary to maintain a high-quality fleet of equipment
• Use POS system to sell trail passes, Demo, products, and Nordic Season Passes
• Keep and neat and clean workstation, including all summit facilities

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Passion for snowsports and knowledge of ski equipment and trends
• Cash handling skills
• Ability to work independently
• Stand for long periods
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn sales software
• Ski tuning and mounting experience a benefit
• Must have weekend availability and flexible weekday availability

Guest Services

Responsibilities:

• Proficient knowledge of resort operations, policies, procedures, and products
• Answer phones and communicate with guests resort policies, procedures
• Use of POS system to sell resort product
• Keep a neat and clean workstation
• Resolve inquiries/issues in a timely and professional manner
• Engage with guests to ensure an exciting experience and lifelong memory
• Remain focused in a very busy environment
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure general knowledge of mountain operations to best assist customers

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older and prior work experience
• Ability to accurately complete transactions using POS system
• Knowledge of snow sports preferred
• Prior cash handling experience
• Able to handle stress and remain composed both with guests and staff
• Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
• Must have weekend availability and flexible weekday availability

Lift Attendant

Responsibilities:

• Assist guests in loading and unloading from the lift
• Ensure the safety of guests at all times
• Conducts open and close inspections of the lift
• Performs regular track maintenance
• Checks tickets and season passes for validity
• Checks for appropriate ski & snowboard equipment (ski brakes, leashes, safety straps & baskets on poles)
• Maintain loading area of the lifts
• Present oneself in a professional manner at all times
• Must be friendly and outgoing while presenting a courteous manner at all times
• Work with guests to ensure a positive and lifelong memory
• Assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• 16 years of age or older
• Must have a heightened sense of safety and ability to react quickly to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
• Must enjoy working outdoors
• Must have appropriate clothing for working in all weather conditions
• Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
• Must have weekend, weekday and evening availability

Rental Shop

Responsibilities:

• Assist guests in choosing appropriate equipment including skis, snowboards, and boots
• Perform general maintenance and safety inspections of all rental equipment
• Ensure every guest is provided the appropriate equipment per their request
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• Present oneself in a professional manner at all times
• Communicate with Guest Services to ensure guests receive needed equipment
• Tune and wax ski and snowboard equipment to maintain high quality equipment
• Set DINs and binding equipment according to manufacturer guidelines
• Assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• 16 years of age or older
• Proficiency in computer systems and ability to learn rental shop specific software
• Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
• Must have weekend and evening availability and flexible weekday availability
• Knowledge of skiing and snowboarding preferred

Retail Store

Responsibilities:

• Assists guests with their retail shop purchases, including snow sports equipment and merchandise
• Present oneself in a professional manner at all times
• General customer service responsibilities
• Retail sales, inventory, and restocking
• Work with guests to ensure a positive and lifelong memory
• Maintain inventory control and accurate counts
• Maintain a clean and presentable workspace including snow removal from adjacent areas
• Assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• 16 years of age or older
• Retail or cashier experience helpful
• Ability to handle cash and credit transactions and balance a cash drawer
• Must have weekend and evening availability and flexible weekday availability
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift and handle snowsports equipment

Snowmaker

Responsibilities:

• Set up snow-guns and hosing
• Responsible for all guns and hoses running in an area that is open to skier traffic. Must be marked with appropriate hazard poles or fencing
• Keep work areas clean & organized
• Operate snowmobiles & ATV’s in a safe manner, in accordance with Bristol Mountain’s expectations and training
• Fuel snowmobiles and ATV’s at end of shift
• Check mechanical operation of snowmobiles and ATV’s (brakes, belts, tires, chassis, etc.), and report needed maintenance to supervisor
• Inform supervisor of any necessary repairs to equipment
• Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to your supervisor and Human Resources
• Remove ice & snow from sidewalks and base area
• Shovel out lift tower pads and snowmaking hydrants
• Anticipate and avoid hazards

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Excellent communication skills to work within a small team
• Safety conscious individual
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull in excess of 100 lbs.
• Must be able to balance and walk on slippery, uneven surfaces
• Must be able to tolerate cold & wet weather
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Ticket Sales

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a positive and professional manner at all times
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure general knowledge of mountain operations to best assist customers with questions/issues
• Guide guests to the appropriate products based on their needs

• Assist with other duties of Guest Services as requested

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older and prior work experience
• Prior customer service and cash handling experience preferred
• Must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
• Must have weekend availability and flexible weekday and evening availability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy with cash handling
• Ability to be cross trained with the Guest Services position

Tuning Center

Responsibilities:

• Perform high quality tunes and wax for maximum guest enjoyment of equipment
• Use of tuning machinery and equipment to perform
• Communicate with Guest Services and Office Manager any seasonal locker related issues
• Assists guests with equipment repairs as requested
• Maintain a clean and safe work station
• Mount ski and snowboard equipment according to manufacturer guidelines

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Must have weekend availability and flexible weekday availability
• Must be able to use tuning equipment according to manufacture and Bristol Mountain guidelines
• Ability to balance a cash drawer
• Cash handling experience preferred
