We walked the trail and took in all the gorgeous sights. MORNING STAR VIEW POINT

Walk past Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventures across the Halle Bop trail to the Morning Star Lift Terminal. Offers views south down the Bristol Valley.

Distance: .4 miles roundtrip from the Comet Express.
Difficulty: Beginner. Level with one small moderate incline.

ROCKET VIEW POINT

Hike down the Ursa Major trail, down a short distance on the Rocket Trail to the knoll overlook. The hike offers views north up the Bristol Valley and a glimpse of Canandaigua Lake.

Distance: .5 miles roundtrip from the Comet Express
Difficulty: Intermediate/Expert.

COMET VIEW POINT

Hike down Haley’s Road to the top of the Comet Trail and the Comet Race Building. Views are east across the Bristol Valley and south down Haley’s Run across the Bristol Valley.

Distance: .35 miles roundtrip from the Comet Express
Difficulty: Intermediate

HIKES AT THE SUMMIT

ARIES CROSS COUNTRY TRAIL

Hike through the woods on the Aries Cross-Country Trail. A mostly level hike with a few moderate inclines and declines.

Distance: .85 mile loop from the Comet Express
Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate

BRISTOL RIDGELINE WALK

Walk along the Bristol Mountain ridgeline on the Space Walk trail to the Galaxy Express Lift Terminal and catch glimpses of the Bristol Valley from multiple view points.

Distance: .5 mile roundtrip from the Comet Express
Difficulty: Beginner

EASY HIKES DOWN

HALE BOPP > MILKY WAY > ECLIPSE > INFINITY

Follows the primary access road down the mountain. Stop at the Morning Star View Point for views south down the Bristol Valley. Enjoy this gradual and scenic hike down the mountain!

Distance: 2 miles one way
Difficulty: Intermediate

HALLEY’S RUN > SUNBELT > SHOOTING STAR > ECLIPSE > INFINITY

Hike down the mountain while enjoying views south down the Bristol Valley. Take a quick stop near the summit at the Comet View Point for views east across the valley.

Distance: 1.6 miles one way
Difficulty: Intermediate

HIKE TO THE MORNING STAR CAFE

Situated midway between the mountain’s summit and base, the Morning Star Café beckons hikers to take a break and indulge.

Discover this hidden gem at the base of the Milky Way trail, offering an array of refreshments, including beer, wine, and snacks. Whether you’re trekking down the mountain or taking a breather en route to the summit, the café’s convenient location at the mid-station of the mountain offers a perfect respite. From here, it’s a scenic 1-mile hike to the base or summit, making it a great pitstop either way. Don’t miss the chance to refuel and recharge at Morning Star Cafe – open from 12pm to 4pm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR YOUR VISIT

In order to ride the chairlift all passengers must have the ability to not only ride the chairlift but to also be evacuated from the chair and the terrain below. Passengers must be able to get on and off the chairlift without assistance.
There is a maximum of 4 per chair.
If you are unfamiliar with the use of the lift please ask the operator for instructions.
For the safety of your pet, no pets or service animals are allowed on the chairlift.
Visitors may ride the Comet Express from the summit to the base or hike down via recommended (marked) trails.

What to wear

Sturdy closed‐toed footwear is highly recommended. We recommend sneakers, hiking boots, or close toed shoes.

Loading

Do not load until instructed by the operator.
Check for loose clothing and equipment. Remove and carry backpacks in laps.
Wait for a chair to pass by and follow it out onto the deck to the red line where indicated.
Turn to watch for oncoming chair and sit in the chair.
Lower bar when clear of ramp.

Unloading

All passengers must unload at the top and bottom.
Passengers will unload at the top of the lift and exit the ramp.
You may reload the chair at the direction of the lift attendant. Waiting period to reload may vary depending on traffic.

Children

Children must sit independently (not being held or in a lap).
Children ages 2 and younger must be adequately secured by a car seat or front baby carrier provided by guest while riding the chairlift.
Children under 4 feet tall must be accompanied by an adult while riding the chairlift.
